When Cat and Neil first got in touch about photographing their wedding, I was so excited to hear about their plans to get married on the edge of a beautiful bay, surrounded by mountains. I have never been to Montenegro before so it was a true adventure and I spent days beforehand scouting the locations and keeping my fingers crossed for good weather.
They are both keen travellers so it made perfect sense for them to get married in a spot which held wonderful memories for them – and it was certainly worth the effort! I myself got married abroad so I know how nerve-racking it can be to arrange a wedding from a far – but Cat and Neil really kept their cool the whole time and it was so lovely to get to know them both in the lead up. They arranged for all of their guests to meet at a central location in Kotor and surprised them all with a boat trip to a quiet jetty on the edge of the bay. The ceremony was held in English and in Montenegrin – though to be honest but biggest memory of this part of the day was concentrating on taking photos without falling into the sea! What followed was a wonderful afternoon of cruising around the bay on the boat and then a delicious feast at the Galion restaurant and finally a night of partying at Dojmi.
I think it is testament to how lovely both Cat and Neil are that so many people made the effort to travel so far. They were so considerate to their guests and spent so long in the planning to make sure everyone who came had a good time. And I think it is fairly safe to say that everyone had an amazing time! I certainly did :) Thank you so much Cat and Neil for choosing me to join you on your big adventure, I will never forget it :)
