I am now 48 days into my 365 project and still not regretting starting it! This week was so much fun and I met with some fantastic people. I have mainly been meeting with potential new clients and planning the odd shoot here and there. This time of year is always quieter for me so I am enjoying the chance to get on top of things before wedding season gets into full swing. That said, I love nothing more than to be busy and really can’t wait for the weddings I’ve got lined up for this year.
Tuesday 12th February 2013 – This is yet another self portrait I’m afraid. I woke up early and saw the sun streaking in through the blinds in my spare room. I really wished I had a willing volunteer to photograph but alas it had to be me. I knew that the light wouldn’t stay like that for long so I popped a pair of sunnies on to hide the bags under my eyes and voila!
Wednesday 13th February 2013 – On this day, I was booked in to do a one day introduction to paragliding course at Fly Sussex near Lewes. I was booked on this course a few times last year, but it kept being cancelled due to bad weather. This time, it went ahead only to be cancelled halfway through. This is a quick portrait of Adam my instructor (I was running around with a great big glider attached to me for most of the morning so didn’t have a lot of photo time that day!)
Thursday 14th February 2013 – On my way to an appointment, I squeezed in a tiny bit of photo time. I literally only took one photo on this day and this is it… A stranger I met called Fuzz. It turns out that he works in one of my favourite cafes in the North Laine, Iydea… A place that serves the most amazing vegetarian food.
Friday 15th February 2013 – I had a little bit more time on my hands on this day and really wanted to make the most of the incredible light. It seemed like a lot of other people had the same idea and were out enjoying the first bit of warmth we have had this year. This is a double exposure that I took of some lads walking on the beach and some catkins on sale outside a florist. Apparently catkins (or pussy willows) appear on trees before the leaves and are the first sign that spring is on its way. :)
Saturday 16th February 2013 – I drove over to Dorset on Saturday to meet up with a couple whose wedding I am photographing in April. I often meet up with couples a month or so before their weddings so that we can have a bit of a pre-wedding photoshoot – something I have found quite useful as it allows me to get to know them a bit better and hear more details about their big day. This is Holly and Jonathan with their two gorgeous sons, Oscar and Otis. I had such a lovely time with them and really can’t wait until their wedding! It’s going to be amazing!
Sunday 17th February 2013 – I went over to Lewes to watch some friends play rugby. I took my camera along but it reminded me how I will never ever be a sports photographer. I think I will always be more into pretty things like weddings and fashion (or in the case of today – animals!) This is a very handsome boy I met whilst spectating – I didn’t catch his name. Can anyone educate me as to what breed he is? I want one. :D
Monday 18th February 2013 – Ah, beautiful Ella-May! I did a photoshoot of her and her lovely family over in Newhaven. As predicted, Ella-May stole the show a little! Her most used phrase was: “Lexy, take another one of me!” How could I say no? I got so many lovely ones it was hard to choose my favourite. I love the light at this time of year, it was quite low in the sky for our shoot… It’s so bright it can make photos really tricky unless you can position people the right way.
Another week over! Thank you once again for looking and for everyone’s lovely comments over the last few weeks.
