I have been thinking recently how going through the process of planning my wedding is helping me to understand what my clients go through during the process of planning theirs. This week, my love and I had an engagement shoot of our own with our brilliant photographer Kat Hill. I have realised that one massive benefit, is knowing how nerve wracking it is to be the other side of the camera. Having this experience will no doubt help me to put people at ease when shooting their engagement photos or their wedding. Kat was lovely with us, I can only hope that I am that good at making people feel relaxed.
I have had the best week ever – other than the engagement shoot it was filled with my big roller derby minimum skills test, my love’s birthday, my birthday, and the hen do! With all of this being the centre of attention malarky, I decided that it might be a good week to do a themed self portrait each day. Friends often tease me for pouting too much in photos. I do this because of insecurities about my appearance (honestly!) So this weeks theme makes me feel a little uncomfortable but hey, I am seeing it as practise for the big day next month. (hopefully I won’t be pouting all day at the wedding!)
As well as a self portrait theme, I also wanted to make it a bit fun for me so decided to do multiple exposures each day. So please excuse this self indulgence… I promise that I will return to shooting other more interesting subjects next week!
Tuesday 2nd April 2013 – Me and Me
Wednesday 3rd April 2013 – Me, Me, Me, Me and Me.
Thursday 4th April 2013 – Just me (and a bit of fabric and stuff)
Friday 5th April 2013 – Me with some fairy lights.
Saturday 6th April – My eye combined with the view out of my front door.
Saturday 7th April 2013 – Me recovering from the hen do.
Monday 8th April 2013 – Me being silly… Not strictly a double exposure – more of an exposure of an exposure… This is a photo of a photo displayed on the screen of my iphone, shot through a glass.
That’s it! My 14th week of my 365 project. Thanks for looking… Until next week… :)
