I really enjoyed a lot of camera time this week. I went to Hertfordshire for a beautiful wedding on Saturday following an amazing few days learning new photography and business skills with the very talented Adam Bronkhorst, Lisa Devlin and Melissa Love in Fowey, Cornwall as part of the Photography Farm elements tour. I will be doing a more detailed blog post on both of these in the near future so will keep the descriptions here brief. This is the 23rd week of my 365 project:
Tuesday 4th June 2013 – After driving down to Fowey on Tuesday, a few of us went out for drinks and a bite to eat. I took a few photos around the very pretty seaside town and where we were staying at the fabulous Fowey Hall. This is a photo of Lily who is Melissa Love’s youngest daughter. For those of you who have read my blog posts at the beginning of this year – Melissa is the very creative and clever designer who did my new logo and visual identity for me. It was lovely to see Melissa and meet Lily.
Wednesday 5th June 2013 – This was the day of Adam’s flash workshop. I found it fascinating in a very geeky way and learnt new things about using speedlights on and off camera. This is a photo of Ray, one of the other photographers on the course – and a very good model. :) Ray McShane is a filmmaker who came on the course because he is starting to work more with still photography as well as moving footage. The paper streamers and pom poms were courtesy of Pearl and Earl.
Thursday 6th June 2013 – Another great day – this time learning how to take awesome couple portraits with Lisa Devlin. Our models were the lovely Sophie and Gareth of Crown and Glory. They were such a great couple to work with. Full post to follow soon… :)
Friday 7th June 2013 – Back home to sunny Brighton and straight back in the studio to catch up. After I finished for the day I met up with My Love for a drink in the White Rabbit pub. I hadn’t had the chance to take any photos yet that day so we were both on the prowl, looking for someone to photograph. This is Adam, a nice man who poured us a beer. I noticed a lovely streak of light coming in through the back window of the pub and so asked him to pose for a few photos. Back a bit, left a bit, right a bit… do you mind squatting ever so slightly? Lovely!… and then a nice cold pint of lager. :)
Saturday 8th June 2013 – Off to Coltsfoot Country Retreat in Hertfordshire. This is Jo and Dan, a really sweet couple and a fantastic wedding day. Congratulations to you both, I wish you all the happiness in the world. I truly can’t wait to go through the rest of the photos. :) Full blog post to follow. Eeeeep!
Sunday 9th June 2013 – This is Maria, our newest addition to our family. We picked her up from the RSPCA on Sunday after preparing her new living space and telling Harley (our other rabbit) that his new girlfriend was coming. She seems to be settling in well and we have begun the process of introducing her to him. We have been told to do this slowly – hopefully they will soon be best of friends. I named her Maria because of my love of The Sound of Music.
Monday 10th June 2013 – After work, I went for a walk and met this man… I got talking to him and couldn’t help but look at the way the light was falling on his face… It can be very distracting sometimes when I am talking to someone and all I can think of is how I would photograph them. Anyway, this is Akushla who runs a shop on Kensington Gardens called Jah Love.
That’s it for this week. This has been my 23rd week of this years 365 photo a day project. Thanks for looking.
